Planning, design, and launch of Discover’s merchant website

Discover came to us needing a complete visual and content overhaul of their current merchant website. Users complained of difficulty navigating and finding relevant content, confusing and inconsistent language and overall had a negative impression of the design. Many users visit the site several times a week for key account management tasks, and wanted a clear separation between marketing content for prospective new users and account management and reporting tools for them.

My team and sat down with Discover and came up with an all new site architecture, redundant navigation including dynamic menus and a modernized design direction that tested well in focus groups and satisfied all of their core needs. Now Discover Merchants can rely on more direct language using action-oriented words and plain English to describe features and benefits. Bold visual cues direct them important site content throughout the site. Sections are now color-coded to promote faster browsing for repeat visitors.
